How I Kill Time

I like to kill time by staying home and helping my parents clean the house, wash the dishes, do the laundry, and go to the garden with my mom to help her plant some corns, green onions, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, and sugar canes. I kill time by going to the Flea Market with my sisters. I like to play with my little niece and little nephews because they are fun to play with. I play with them on weekends, but sometimes I play with them on weeks day like Monday, Wednesday, and Friday when their mother brings them to our house. When all other activities are done, I kill time by watching T.V., movies, and listening to music. This spare time is very boring because I stay home all the time. On the other hand, I really don't like going shopping because it's very boring going with my sisters who always take forever to buy what they want. So I kill my time staying home alone when my parents, brothers, and sisters are not home. To keep me being bored I like to sew beads, read Hmong books, write Hmong poems or stories. But mostly, I like to play Scrabble, Monoploy, cards, and Matching cards with my niece and nephews. That's how I kill my time when I get bored.

My Helping Time

Time manage is an important skill for any colloge students, but sometimes I feel like my time is still managed by my parents. I manage my time by coming home from school to help my parents put their stuff away. I help my mom dried her rice, boil the corn, wash the dishes, and help her clean the house. I also help my dad feed his chickens and I also help my sister feed her bird. In my manage time I never get to relax or do my homework. I always have to help my parents all the time, because they are the ones that needs me the most.On Monday,Wednesday, and Friday my sister would bring her kids to me to help her baby-sit so could go to school on time. Sometimes I have free time on saturday to go to the flea market with my sisters. I only go if I have money, but if I don't have any money then I don't go to the flea market. I always waste my time by playing with my little niece and my little nephews. I waste my time watching T.V., movies, writing Hmong poems, reading my Hmong book, and playing games like Scrabble, and Monopoly. Sometimes I have time to do my homework when I'm not helping my paernts. I spend alot of time trying to finish my homework on time. Sometimes I have hard time understanding the reading and the writing. Doing homework is more important then helping parents becaues you need to get your homework done in ture it in to your teacher on time. Having alot of homework gives you a headached. I don't like having alot of homework because I never finish them on time.

My Traditional Family

I am part of a traditional Hmong family. I have six sisters two brothers, my mom and dad and me live in the same house. In my family we celebrate New Years where we all go and toss ball with boys. My mom likes to dress my sister and I in Hmong clothes because she wants us to go toss ball with boys. The Hmong New Year has alot of Hmong people tossing balls, dancing, singing, and playing qeej as instrutment. New Years is one of the Hmong Traditional Holidays. We also do Jingle bells for someone who is very sick or someone who is going to get their surgery. Hu plig means to call the spirits to come back to your body or for someone who had a new born baby in their family. Funeral is a church that has alot of poeple who go and visit that dead person the coffin. The qeej which means instrutment are blown in the church for the dead person. The Hmong wedding is when a girl married her boyfriend and everyones brought them gifts or give them money. Jingle bells, Hu plig means to call the spirits, Funeral, and Hmong Wedding are traditional Hmong activities that we have in our culture. My parents don't work because they are on disability. I have one sister that not working, but goes to Turlock for college, and I also have two brothers that are working too.

My Sister Lea Lor

Lea is my last sister that I have in my family. She is very lazy because she never washes the dish when we told her to do. She always plays games when she come home from school and she never does her homework. She likes to wear 3 shirts and likes to wear alot of necklaces and chains around her neck and wrist. Her favorite games are Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, and Mario Kart because she always plays them all the time and never stop playing. She likes Korean movies and likes to browse the internet to look for her favorite movie stars. She really likes our little dog Ella because she really cute and fun to play with. She never help my parents around the house because she doesn't like to clean the house. She's also a dancer. Every Thursday and Sunday she goes practice at Merced Lao Family. If she doesn't go then my mom yells at her or hit her to make her go dance practice. She likes to play keyboard and make some music. She also really likes Barbie dolls. Sometimes, she takes pictures of Ella the dog, her barbies, and herself on the bunkbeds. Her favorite colors are red, blue, white, and black because she always wears them. She never wakes up early because she hates waking up early, but she sometimes wakes up very late. She likes to draw and she always draw people, mermaid, and everything that had in her mind. She's a very good artist when she draws. She likes to stay in the bedroom do activities then out in the living room with the family. My sister has many talents.
